Vision & Purpose

The Inspiration

In 2011, while leading a groundbreaking Oracle Primavera implementation in Johannesburg, Raymond Poole – Managing Director of PMIS and creator of this initiative experienced first-hand the warmth, resilience, and eagerness to learn of the South African people. Raymond and his wife felt immediately at home, and South Africa left a lasting imprint on their hearts. With over 40 years in project controls and managing global Primavera implementations, he now feels called to give back — by opening doors for those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to step into such a life-changing profession.

Our Mission

The mission of this program is simple but profound: to provide apprentices with a professional path that can change their lives, uplift their families, and strengthen their communities. Having lived with neurodivergence (dyslexia, autism, ADHD), Raymond knows first-hand that traditional education does not work for everyone. This program is designed to unlock the potential of talented individuals who may otherwise feel left out by conventional learning models.

Why South Africa? Why Ireland?

Ireland and South Africa are bound by more than geography could ever separate. Both nations know what it is to be colonised, to lose control over their own land, and to live through deep poverty and famine. These shared wounds have shaped a deep sense of empathy between

our peoples.

In the 1980s, Irish citizens stood shoulder to shoulder with South Africans, refusing to handle apartheid goods in a simple but powerful act of solidarity. Ordinary families, shopkeepers, and workers took a stand, saying: “Your struggle is our struggle.”

That spirit still lives on. Today, Ireland and South Africa continue to recognise one another in moments of global injustice, carrying forward a bond rooted in shared experience.

This program is part of that story. It is not about politics or governments — it is about people helping people. It is Ireland reaching out to South Africa with knowledge, mentorship, and opportunity. It is South Africa giving back with energy, courage, and a future built by its own young people.

Our Vision in One Sentence

“Empowering young South Africans with opportunities to build meaningful careers, strengthen communities, and shape the nation’s future.”
